Stewmageddon trumps Snowmageddon

Guinness Steak Not-Stew

1 pound steak bits
5 carrots
5 small red potatoes
some mushrooms
1 medium onion
1 14 oz-is can Guinness
1 can beef broth
meat tenderizer rub
parsley
salt, pepper
2 cups water

chop, combine, stew in crock pot on high for about 4-5 hours.

soak up not-stew-y goodness with apple bread, or other grain type loaf.

Oh Apple of My Eye

Apple Bread, with pecans

1 cup oil
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups apples, diced
3 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
pecans

combine and set aside the oil, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
sift flour, cinnamon, soda, and salt.
add dry ingredients to oil mixture gradually.
add apples and nuts.
bake in 2 regular loaf pans or 3 foil loaf pans for 1-1/2 hours at 300°F.
cool 10 minutes in the pan.
sprinkle with sugar, if desired.

bonjour, french breakfast

Bonjour, French Breakfast


French Toast

egg
milk
splenda or sugar
salt
bread

mix egg, milk, about 2 tablespoons of sugar or splenda, and a pinch of two of salt together.
cut sliced white bread in half.
dip bread slices in mix.
coat pan with butter.
fry.
eat.

Fried Ham

ham
butter  or oil

take a few slices of deli ham.
heat pan with butter or oil.
fry up ham.

enjoy.

Sliced Cheese

colby jack

Toast with Strawberry Preserves 

potato bread
strawberry preserves

drop bread in toaster.
toast.
spread preserves.

Pork Pot Roast

center cut pork roast
one large onion
two medium gala apples
five small red potatoes
six carrot sticks
half bottle cheap red wine
one can beef broth
one cup water
salt, pepper, parsley
meat tenderizer spice rub

cut up veggies.
dump in half bottle red wine, beef broth and water into crock pot.
place pork roast on bottom.
sprinkle parsley, salt, pepper and meat rub.
dump veggies on top.
sprinkle with some more salt, pepper, parsley and meat rub.

cook about 3 to 4 hours on high setting, or about 5 to 6 hours on low setting.

enjoy tasty pork bits.

Banana Bread Muffins

3 or 4 ripe bananas, smashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar / splenda
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

optional:
chocolate chip
walnut
nutella
apple
pecan

mash bananas, add butter, mix.
mix sugar, egg, vanilla then add.
sprinkle baking soda and salt over.
add flour.

right side:

Homemade Sangria

red wine
orange juice concentrate
ground cinnamon

fill container half full with orange concentrate mix and a few lumps of unmixed mixture.
fill the rest of the way up with red wine, the cheaper the better.
add a dash or four of ground cinnamon.
shake.
enjoy.

Wake and Bake

Spinach and Cheese Quiche

3 or 4 eggs / 2-ish cups of egg beaters
8 oz shredded cheese
half package frozen spinach
6 oz-ish can of evaporated milk / 1 cup milk of choice

bake around 350 degrees for about 45 minutes

slice and serve hot
