Loose Chicken with Vegetables

4 chicken legs
4 large carrots
5-6 medium potatoes
1 medium onion

slice and dice veg.
wash chicken.
dump veg in crock pot.
place chicken on top (or on bottom - mine ended up kind of dry).
pour 2 - 12 oz. bottles of Heavy Seas Loose Cannon on top.

cook on low 4-5 hours / on high 8-9 hours.

Tomato-Mandarin Salad

half bag of pre-washed lettuce mix with cabbage and carrots
2 small tomatoes, sliced
4 mandarin oranges, peeled and broken
sprinkle with shredded cheese

top with dressing of choice.
(goes great with ranch, or just olive oil and red wine vinegar with some pepper)

Sparkling Sangria

1 bottle two oceans shiraz
1 bottle wegman's cranberry lime italian soda
1 apple, diced
handful of chopped watermelon
several large strawberries, sliced

serve in large container, chilled.
fill glass halfway then top off with more Wegman's Cranberry Lime Italian soda for taste and fizziness.

Stewmageddon trumps Snowmageddon

Guinness Steak Not-Stew

1 pound steak bits
5 carrots
5 small red potatoes
some mushrooms
1 medium onion
1 14 oz-is can Guinness
1 can beef broth
meat tenderizer rub
parsley
salt, pepper
2 cups water

chop, combine, stew in crock pot on high for about 4-5 hours.

soak up not-stew-y goodness with apple bread, or other grain type loaf.

Oh Apple of My Eye

Apple Bread, with pecans

1 cup oil
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups apples, diced
3 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
pecans

combine and set aside the oil, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
sift flour, cinnamon, soda, and salt.
add dry ingredients to oil mixture gradually.
add apples and nuts.
bake in 2 regular loaf pans or 3 foil loaf pans for 1-1/2 hours at 300°F.
cool 10 minutes in the pan.
sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
